Last week I installed 1.3_ALPHA from scratch (no big problems, fine!),
and tried to get KDE working. The main problem I had installing this
great enviroment (congratulation to all who contributed) on my RiscPC
(Strong ARM, IDE 2.2GB, 24MB RAM) was the following:
the system complained about no mime types being installed and the whole
user interface did not have any icons at all. I created a link in
/usr/pkg/bin:  "ln -s ../share share" and everything was fine - perhaps
I did something wrong with the packages I downloaded from the usual
RiscBSD ftp site.

But I have two questions:=20
Still there is an error message from the script startkde. Its output is
the following:
	# startkde  =20
	kpanel: waiting for windowmanager
	Starting audio server with talk id 65536.
	Some pixmaps are not valid: ShapeMode dissabled
	NAME of DISPLAY =3D '_0.0'
	NAME of DISPLAY =3D '_0.0'
	NAME of DISPLAY =3D '_0.0'
	NAME of DISPLAY =3D '_0.0'
	N=3D0

What does it mean by "some pixmaps are not valid". Do I have to install
some more pixmaps? Is there a logfile with the exact filename of the
invalid pixmap? I did not change any config file.

The second question is: when I want to open a directory with kfm, then
the following output appears in the console window:=20
	**********A
	Done
	######## (1) lstURL =3D 'file:/root/Desktop/Templates/'
	NAME of DISPLAY =3D '_0.0'
	ERROR: Could not start kioslave


But the program kioslave exists - was it not installed properly? The =
kfm
window displays "Working..." in the status bar, but nothing happens.
If I try to start it manually:

	# kioslave
	A new kioslave has been started
	Usage: kioslave path
	# stty erase ^H=20
	# kioslave file:/root
	A new kioslave has been started
	QSocketNotifier: Invalid socket specified
	QSocketNotifier: Internal error
	^C
