Okay; vide and tty's are all installed, but the boot-loader (v2.88)
doesn't contain anything that seems to construct the `vidc.mode' line;
neither do I have any information on what to put in the `vidc.mode' line.
This results in a horribly garbled display, but I can't use the old console
because it mangles 800x600 so horribly.
