Yes, and the answer is no. You shouldn't need to do that as long
as you have compiled in compatibilty for NetBSD 1.2.

But, I don't know too much about how close the RiscBSD code
is to current since there does not seem to be too many people
running current on arm32.

I will hopefully go current soon.
