Greetings,
All this KDE and QT stuff. Fail to see what all the fuss is about, but I
had a go at building it anyway :-)
The QT library builds shared and hassle-free on my system, and all of
the demo programs (clocks, movie, full widget thing etc) work perfectly
:-) Guess my system must have a working C++ compiler.
Where abouts is the bug in the current C++ stuff; if it's just a library
I could upload one of mine (Mark does this make sense? would it work? if
not let me know as I use 1.2G)
I've not gone onto full KDE yet, but see no reason why this should not
work. At the moment, I'm not really motivated to because Demon keep
dropping my modem connection... If there's sufficient demand however I
might be persuaded to change my mind this weekend at cheap rate! Is this
GUI any good? (forgive my ignorance here!)
If not, I might be tempted to get it next week (we're getting a 128Kbits
line installed which wil help things somewhat!)...
neil$ ls -l /usr/local/qt/lib/
[snip]
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root users 1509900 Nov 26 23:40 libqt.so.1.31
It's a big mutha, but
neil$ ls -l /usr/local/qt/examples/aclock/
total 46
-rw-r--r-- 1 root users 1194 Nov 26 23:13 Makefile
-rw-r--r-- 1 neil users 152 Oct 9 18:07 README
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root users 23134 Nov 26 23:42 aclock
-rw-r--r-- 1 neil users 2664 Oct 9 18:07 aclock.cpp
-rw-r--r-- 1 neil users 672 Oct 9 18:07 aclock.h
-rw-r--r-- 1 root users 4123 Nov 26 23:42 aclock.o
-rw-r--r-- 1 neil users 133 Oct 9 18:07 aclock.pro
-rw-r--r-- 1 neil users 406 Oct 9 18:07 main.cpp
-rw-r--r-- 1 root users 1207 Nov 26 23:42 main.o
-rw-r--r-- 1 root users 1226 Nov 26 23:42 mclock.cpp
-rw-r--r-- 1 root users 4983 Nov 26 23:42 mclock.o
the programs seem tiny.
