Sorry to ask a question that may hae been dealt with elsewhere, but I have
the alpha 1.3 CD and cannot find the answer in any of the documentation
supplied.

I had RiscBSD 1.2 installed on my IDE drive (standard Acorn jobby), some
time ago, but had to delete it as I needed the space, which is why I haven't
been paying too much attention to the mailing list and may have missed any
posting about this subject previously. I'm now planning to get a Syjet
1.5Gb removable SCSI drive, and this is why I ordered the CD at the show.

Back in the mists of time, users were advised to avoid installing RiscBSD on
a SCSI disc, as the drivers for said devices used to poll the card, as
opposed to operate on interrupts, which meant that processes involving disc
accesses were very slow. Has this been dealt with in the Alpha 1.3
distibution?

A related point, I notice that there is some doubt whether the PowerTek
SCSI II card is capable of handling a RiscBSD partition, with recent RiscBSD
releases. Since I would prefer to install RiscBSD on the Syjet rather than
the internal drive, I would be interested to hear from anyone who has
tried to install RiscBSD1.3 on a PowerTek SCSI II hard drive. :-)

Thanks for your help in advance..

Chris
