The package system is also meant to allow binary packages to be built,
so they can be downloaded over the net or included on CD-ROMs, etc.,
in binary form.

Eventually, CDs which include lots of pre-built binary packages for
lots of architectures should start showing up.

However, the package system currently has a lot of bug, problems, and
shortcomings, so it won't happen over night...
