Hi,

Having just recieved a new Simtec IDE card I am keen to have the drive
containing my BSD partition connected to the new IDE bus. The drive is
recognised fine on the RiscOS side, but obviously the device names for BSD have
changed since the change of interface. Does anybody have any ideas as to what
they should be, or even if I can use the partition which has been set up for
another interface?

Is all that is needed a change to the fstab file and some fiddling with the
filing system configuration, or am I better of re-installing the whole thing
from scratch?

I was told by Simtec that I would need a new kernel. Anybody have any ideas
which one?

Ideally I would prefer to have kept my two hard drives connected to the Acorn
IDE bus, and only use the Simtec card for my CD-ROM, but as CD support is not
yet present in Simtec IDEFS I have had to re-arrange things a bit. Anyone know
if a CD drive connected to the Simtec card will be accessable from Unix?

On a similar theme, if I were to have the CD drive and the BSD partition
connected to the Acorn IDE bus, what changes to the filing system configuration
would need to be made? In this case the device names for the BSD partition have
changed from /dev/wd1a to /dev/wd0a, as my BSD disk has now become Drive 4 on
the RiscOS side if things.

Thanks in advance

Duncan
