Don't both beep and vidcaudio rely on the vidc driver? (but not on each
other) I thought that vidcaudio was the (as yet unfinished) interface
between the generic NetBSD audio driver and the 16 bit VIDC stuff...

It's an Acorn card on a first issue RiscPC motherboard.

It was occuring with any custom kernels that I've built since Febuary and 
the latest autobuild. However I've now fitted a StrongARM and the problem
has stopped. I suspect that due to the fact that nobody else has mentioned
seeing the problem it is due to an oddity in my machine's hardware. I
thoughtthat this was the case in the first place but then began to wonder
when I saw John's email.
