* the FSF-Emacs works fine for me, at least the latest version never
crashed on my computer!

* the XEmacs-port is for the alpha-RiscBSD, so it is no wonder that it
is quite unstable. In general FSF-Emacs is a lot more stable than
XEmacs while XEmacs has more X-Gadgets like the buttonbar or the
ability of displaying graphics and playing sounds. OTOH FSF-Emacs has
more functions.

Again, if there is demand I'll take a look at XEmacs 19.15.
