# cat base.?? | gzip -d | tar tvf - | grep pppd

So, to find the sources look on your closest NetBSD source mirror in the
usr.sbin directory. For instance on sunsite.doc.ic.ac.uk the latest version is
in /unix/NetBSD/NetBSD-current/src/usr.sbin/pppd

Why do you want the sources? I'm using the 1.2 binary from the base set quite
happily.
