I just tried it and it worked (after I modified /etc/fstab)!

Considering two identical harddiscs, is there any speed gain using one of
them for the file system and the other only for swap? What about using one
for the FS and both for swap?

I noticed that the kernel now keeps statistics about the disc transfers, I
still have to check if they are useful and meaningful, though.
