Can I add my fivers worth to the debate ?

It's simple for me, I don't wish to have it as a newsgroup as it is
incredibly difficult to get access to the newsgroups from University (have
to telnet all over the shop) whereas normal email can be accessed from
nearly all machines at nearly all the campus'.
