Problem with ATAPI CD Rom?

I personally have a Goldstar R540B (I think) and the kernel I have actually is 
able to query the IDE port and identify the drive. However how do I do this 
"link atapibus0 at wdc0" how am I supposed to use the CD Rom? I have tried 
mounting it for ages but don't know what it is I am exactly supposed to do...
