Hello there,

I'm trying again to install RiscBSD. I think I've problems to calculate
the correct size and the offset of the RiscBSD part. Besides, I've found
that RiscOS-software (!PowerMGR) tells me that my disc has got 109
sectors per track, riscbsd tells me 107. Strange.

Ok, I've a 2gig Quantum scsi harddisc, connected to a powertec scsi II.
Firmware is 13/6/96. I've the old filecore. With PowerMGR I partitioned
my harddisc in the following way:

RiscOS: SCSI::4    511MB
RiscOS: SCSI::5    453MB
RiscOS: SCSI::6    511MB
RiscOS: SCSI::7    511MB (RiscBSD)
RiscOS: SCSI::0     59MB

The discs geometry is:
3907 cyl, 10 heads, sectorsize 512, 109 (PowerMgr)/107 (RiscBSD) sectors
per track.

What I get is the following:

RiscIX partitioning information found,
p0: RiscOS: 000ffbc2  000e2fea
p1: RiscOS: 001e2bc2  000ffbc2
p2: RiscOS: 002e2bc2  000ffbc2
p3: RiscOS: 003e2bc2  0001dce0

and a

RiscBSD identifier not found

I tried it wit the 109 and the 107 sectors per track.

Installation failes at this point.

Hope someone can help.

Regards,

Eric

P.S: I've the kernel with support for 64MB (forgot the number...) and it
works with 48+2 too!
