I have now come to a final conclusion on my 1.2 kernel problem.

With only one 32 MB SIMM everything works fine, but if I add
more memory, then I get problems.

Mark Brinicombe is going to work on this and give me a new kernel
for testing before it is released to the public.

For now I will stick to using kernel 4197 since this (sort of)
works.

So, in other words:

With 32 MB or less DRAM, there should be NO PROBLEMS installing
the 1.2 beta from scratch.

I hope this will encourage people to, or at least not stop them
from, upgrading to 1.2 beta.

Finally I would like to express my apologies for any offense
etc. that my comments may have lead to. It has never been my
intention to do anything but try to make RiscBSD a better
product and/or expressing my frustration.

My philosophy is to say it when I see something I do not
like or when something just doesn't work.
