Hi all,

I'm trying to establish a ppp connection with
riscbsd.

I had a slip connection working fine with dip
but the provider changed and with him the
protocol.

I've been using a wide variety of the command:

pppd tty00 28800 -d defaultroute passive connect 'chat -r chat.report
  -v "" ATZ OK ATDT.......... etc.etc. '

I'm sure that I could manage to "man" my way through this if someone
could tell me how to turn on the debug state in pppd (and what
line to add in syslog.conf to redirect the output) and also how
to turn on the verbose state in "chat" so I could see where and
what I'm doing wrong in the logon script.

The /var/log/messages file:
Jul 26 22:36:03 astro pppd[216]: pppd 2.2.0 started by gardar, uid 0
Jul 26 22:36:33 astro pppd[216]: Connect: ppp0 <--> /dev/tty00
Jul 26 22:37:03 astro pppd[216]: LCP: timeout sending Config-Requests
Jul 26 22:37:03 astro pppd[216]: Connection terminated.

all help very much appreciated.
