Hi,
Ok I am pleased to announce that beta versions of the RiscBSD 1.2 core
release are now available.

These are the NetBSD/arm32 1.2 beta sets (base, comp, etc, man, misc, text)

They are located at:

ftp://ftp.ph.kcl.ac.uk/pub/acorn/RiscBSD/1.2/sets/

I would ask users who can to test these out and feedback any problems to me.

Special notes:

Please make sure you have an uptodate backup. Make sure your /etc files are
backed up.

GCC 2.7.2 is now built as part of the NetBSD source tree and is installed in
the comp set. With 1.2 it is no longer a separate set as standard. Also since
the assembler is static (Been running the same version since RiscBSD started)
this
is also included in the comp set.
As a result the 1.2 comp set will conflict as252 cc263 cc272.
[RiscBSD kernel team: will also conflict with cc11b]

You should use inst to remove these sets before installing the 1.2 sets (inst
1.9 will refuse to install them until you remove the conflicts)

Please BEAR IN MIND that reinstalling the etc set willl OVERWRITE many files in
/etc that you have modified. The 1.2 etc set does NOT need to be installed
unless it is a new installation.

Currently NEW 1.2 installations are not possible as I have not build a 1.2
rootdisc. I will try and get that done this evening.

The 1.2 beta release online may change a number of times in the next few weeks
as bugs are fixed.

Cheers,
                                Mark

PS. The NetBSD games set is currently missing. This is because about half the
binaries were bugged in RiscBSD 1.1 due to signed char problems. So far I have
not had time to fix them. Anybody wishing to install the games set should mail
me and I will sort out putting a version on line.
