This came up about four weeks ago on this list, in a thread with the
subject "Pinebook xorg.conf".  Martin posted an identical (by symbol
names, not addresses) backtrace to yours.  The conclusion was that
this is a general xfce bug, not even specific to aarch64.

I haven't even tried, ctwm does the job for me.
