How different is the protocol to the DS1307? I have my DS1307 talking
to NetBSD by creating a config file RPI_RTC:

include "arch/evbarm/conf/RPI"

no options MODULAR
no options MODULAR_DEFAULT_AUTOLOAD

dsrtc* at iic1 addr 0x68

options USBVERBOSE # verbose USB device autoconfig messages
