I wasn't aware that there were images in releng until recently.

I got this file:

http://nyftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD-daily/HEAD/201303041020Z/evbarm/binary/gzimg/rpi.img.gz

And dd doesn't fail, which seems good:

# dd if=rpi.img of=/dev/sdb
1535376+0 records in
1535376+0 records out
786112512 bytes (786 MB) copied, 297.035 s, 2.6 MB/s

I can't try to boot it right now but this is a better result so far.
