Ide Cdrom on A1200 install trouble

Hello !
Thank you for advices about partitoning stuff on amiga.
I have a big problem with my ide cd.
Installer does not detect it at all - list of available cdroms is empty
I have an a1200 with Maxtor 10 gb (for testing purposes) HDD as master
device and
And ASUS ATAPI cdrom as slave device.
No 4IDE adapters, no eide controllers - just plain amiga ide with 2 devices.
AmigaOS successfully uses my cdrom, and linux, too.
Help, please. How I can workaround this ?
