  I suspect that the problems I was having were mostly caused by making wrong 
guesses, eg, I started with trying to use sd0c for /usr because I couldn't 
read the disk description shown by the installer. Things worked a lot better 
after I figured out how the partition naming scheme works. It still did 
involve some guessing, but it looks like my semi-educated guesses were
correct eventually.

- Blizzard 2040 card gets detected/configured properly
- GVP (HD8+?) scsi controller gets detected 
- XSurf ethernet works properly
- Cybervision64/3D doesn't get detected?

all 4 scsi drives get detected (2 harddisks, 1 cdrom, 1 zip drive)

The FIREBALL_TM3200S, is connected to the GVP controller, the other
drives all kook up to the Blizzard 2040

network is up, dhclient=YES works fine ;)

enabling sshd makes startup hang, but I'll dig into that later, starting sshd 
manually allows me to ssh into it.
