IMHO, you don't strictlly need xdm to run the xserver. xdm is for
multiuser
x mode, and you really need to know very well how it works before
you dare to run it. I don't know either, but I'm working on
it...still login in as root... studying the users subject...

I'm with you. It mentions it, but just as a RTFM subject, and
that's it. That's where I am right now. RTFMing, of course!  B-)

OTOH, Hubert Feyrer asked on the 15-Jan-1999 for a FAQ maintainer,
all we need is...   a volunteer...
