 No, Read the original mail and seek for "PAP/CHAP". His connection
does work, but his local network setup somehow is wrong.

 This is a "bad idea". Read about "PAP" or "CHAP" secrets in "man pppd".
Of course only when you are using a true PPP-dial-in server.
