When the kernel hack in the FAQ to raise the serial interrupt pritority
was applied, I could achieve a sustained throughput of over 9k/s
using a null modem linkup to my laptop. This was on a 1200 with a 68030/50.
Interestingly enough, the laptop, with a "proper" serial device,
running FreeBSD, dropped more chars than the Amiga...
