SSCI lockups on A3000 NetBSD 1.2

I've been having this problem ever since I upgraded to 1.1 and I've just
about run out of ideas.

Basically what happens is that at random intervalsthe machine just stops
with the HD light on. At this point everything stops and keyboard input at
the console has no effect, all network traffic stops and the machine needs
a power-cycle or a CTL-A-A to get it to reboot. No core dumps result from
this sort of lockup.

Machine config is.

Softkick A3000 kicking into 3.1
2MB chip ram 1MB FAST on the motherboard in SC dips
32MB on a DKB3128 on the ZIII bus
Picasso II
Ariadne ethernet.

I can't get a showconfig output right now as there are people on the
machine, I can do later if people think it will help

dmesg output.

The warnings at the end are a resent addition from when I put the fujitsu
drive in, this problem was there before they were.

I had no problems under 1.0, or AmigaOS

So far I have.

Upgraded the Buster to Rev11.
Upgraded the SCSI chip to a 00-08 model (erm I thinks that the number,
anyway the new one, not the old PROTO 00-04).
Terminated the internal SCSI bus on the motherboard
Corrected a 'feature' where NetBSD was detecting the motherboard as hardware
hz 715909, which is incorrect, because I had my machine jumpered to use
NTSC modes by default.
Used various drives, however sd1 has remained there thoughout as it
contains the AmigaOS partitions and would be inconvient to remove.
I have dsabled syncronous transfers and reselect, which made no difference.

I believe that the sbic SCSI driver was rewritten between 1.0 and 1.1 could
this have something to do with it?

Any ideas at all, I have run out of clues =(
