Hi everybody,
I've here a big problem!

During executing of big programs, NetBSD hangs up.
The system simply stops. At X11 it's possible to move
the mouse pointer some seconds before he also 'hangs'.
At most (nearly everytime) the HD-LED is on.
I don't know why! I can't reproduce any of the 'hang ups'.
One time it hangs, an other time it runs.
But in most cases it happens after starting big programs.
For example kernel compile under X11 - impossible .
I've compiled an new kernel with KBDRESET set, so I can
flush an ktrace.out on HD after the system hangs.
So I was able to ktrace an Ghostview session before one
of the crashs. Here are the last lines from the kdump.:

   196 gv RET select 1
   196 gv CALL ioctl(0x3,FIONREAD,0xdffe834)
   196 gv RET ioctl 0
   196 gv CALL read(0x3,0xdffe838,0x20)
196 gv GIO fd 3 read 32 bytes
       "\M-! Db\^A\0\0P\0\0\0\M-Y\^A@\0\^B\^A\0\0P\0.`\0\0\0\^Fp\0\0\0\^A"
   196 gv RET read 32/0x20
   196 gv CALL select(0xe,0xdfff0c8,0xdfff0e8,0xdfff108,0xdfff154)
   196 gv RET select 0
   196 gv CALL ioctl(0x3,FIONREAD,0xdffe988)
   196 gv RET ioctl 0
   196 gv CALL write(0x3,0x2d000,0x10)
196 gv GIO fd 3 wrote 16 bytes
       "\^B\^A\0\^D\^A\0\0P\0\0@\0\^A\0\0I"
   196 gv RET write 16/0x10
   196 gv CALL ioctl(0x3,FIONREAD,0xdffe988)
   196 gv RET ioctl 0
   196 gv CALL gettimeofday(0xdfff158,0)
   196 gv RET gettimeofday 0
   196 gv CALL select(0xe,0xdfff0f4,0xdfff114,0xdfff134,0)

I hope anybody can help me. Or what shall I do, to find the fault or
make a better error report ?

Thanks for help.

Before I forget it -- my system:

A2000
GForce 030/50 16MB ( 32MB swap )
Piccolo SD64 / 4MB -> ite3 is console
NetBSD 1.2 / X11R6.1

Again thanks

	    Ingo
