1.2 + MerlinII

Is it possible to change the default resolution for the
startup console with binpatch (generic kernel) for the
MerlinII gfxboard like it can be done with the retina board?

Must I jumper the gfxboard to run in ZorroII or will the
Xserver just ignore the possibility to run in ZorroIII mode?
