I have a DL380/G5:
2 x Quad Core
16GB RAM
P400 RAID Controller (Battery backed write cache (BBWC)) - Battery is installed and the BIOS is not reporting any problems with it on boot-up.
We are running:
NetBSD/amd64 5.1 kernel from the install CD
Subset of the dmsg for related devices:

When using “scsictl” or “dkctl” we observe the following:
# /sbin/dkctl sd0 getcache
/dev/rsd0d: read cache enabled
/dev/rsd0d: read cache enable is not changeable
/dev/rsd0d: write cache enable is not changeable
/dev/rsd0d: cache parameters are not savable
# /sbin/scsictl sd0 getcache
/dev/rsd0d: read cache enabled
/dev/rsd0d: write-back cache not enabled
/dev/rsd0d: caching parameters are not savable
My question are:
1) Does the CISS driver take advantage of the write cache?
2) Is ths BBWC a HW level thing that the CISS driver is not even aware of
