I would try enabling ACPI in the INSTALL kernel, and see what that
gives you. If that still fits on the floppy image, at least..

Since all OSes these days do use ACPI, MPS support (MPBIOS in the
NetBSD kernel) seems to be bitrotting in a lot of BIOS implementations.
