 	I have a couple of 4GB amd64 boxes running NetBSD/i386, and while
 	you do not get all of the 4GB, you do get most of it:

 		total memory = 3967 MB
 		avail memory = 3875 MB

 	note, if you set your BIOS values 'unhelpfully' you can end up
 	with quite a bit less - identical hardware can give:

 		total memory = 3583 MB
 	        avail memory = 3499 MB
