Thanks, Wolfgang, I was thinking I might try out a current kernel =
anyway.

Things do look more promising using the current kernel source, although =
the MegaRAID card still seems to be having interrupt issues (see the =
attached kernel output).  It was also a pleasant surprise to find =
nForce3 integrated audio working and the ATA controller now using the =
viaide driver.  Nice.

I found that the joe editor and X11 wouldn't run under this kernel (both =
fail with a signal 11), although note that the X-server is the one from =
the 2.0 distribution.
