Strange silsata* issue (was: Changes for mpt*)



Hi,

After the previous issue with mpt*, I tried a silsata* card that had issues years ago [1], and got this:

What was interesting about this problem is that the SATA SSD that's connected to the AlphaServer DS25's IDE port refused to work. The same disk is used to boot the kernel and works fine after swapping the silsata* for mpt*.

How / why would silsata* cause the motherboard IDE to not work?
