Re: NetBSD/alpha on qemu-system-alpha
Hi,
Compliments for how great it works, I think its awesome! I have a few
questions though:
Thank you for your writeup! We can address one thing quickly:
- pkgin fails to update with an error (pkgin: Short read of pkg_summary:
truncated bzip2 input), which, as far as I can find out (port-sparc list), is
not something I can fix, but has to be "regenerated"? I'm now using pkg_add
and source compilation via pkgsrc, which works fine as well.
I see that packages are still pulling from 2021Q1, not 2021Q2, and that
the pkg_summary.bz2 is a bit smaller than expected, so I fixed that. Old:
-rw-rw-r-- 1 jklos netbsd 1245184 Jun 26 03:47 pkg_summary.bz2
-rw-rw-r-- 1 jklos netbsd 4525806 Jun 26 03:47 pkg_summary.gz
New:
-rw-rw-r-- 1 jklos netbsd 3067952 Aug 20 05:29 pkg_summary.bz2
-rw-rw-r-- 1 jklos netbsd 4525806 Jun 26 03:47 pkg_summary.gz
Please test! Also, it's safe to switch to 2021Q2, so the symlink will be
updated presently on the server.
Thanks for all your hard work!
John
