I have noticed that recent kernels used with userland from a few months
ago break many
important functions such as ifconfig, netstat and dhclient to name a
few. However todays
new kernel 4.99.37 used with 4.99.33 userland renders X (xinit) useless?
xinit -> xf86MapVidMem : could not mmap framebuffer-why?
This is on alpha arch 164LX if it matters.
