Looking at PR 29882 I see the problem - the original mail thread suggested
that things would Just Work(tm).

OK, will do a native build and see how things go.

FWIW, has anyone had success with the (pkgsrc) x.org servers on Alpha? If
I'm gonna be rebuilding X, I might as well go the whole hog :)
