It is possible that multi-cpu operation will, in fact, work on these  
systems now.  When that FAQ was written, NetBSD did not have MP support.

Of course, it could be broken, too :-)  I worked with 8200/8400  
systems for several years, and I will be happy to provide insight on  
that hardware platform when needed, as my (unfortunately somewhat  
constrained) time allows.
