Deiter, Matt, and all,
I started to write down the SHO output, and figured I would try the easy 
path...
b -flags a -file netbsd.alpha dqa0
and bang!
works like a champ! installing now!
Thanks!! This is the only box I have had with this problem!
Now I know how to trouble shoot it!
(won;t say anthing bout dusty the multia sitting in a corner)
