I changed my config-file to have:
wd* at pciide? channel ? drive ? flags 0x0fac
So now the drive probes as:
wd0 at pciide0 channel 0 drive 0: <Maxtor 4D060H3>
wd0: drive supports 16-sector PIO transfers, LBA addressing
wd0: 58627 MB, 16383 cyl, 16 head, 63 sec, 512 bytes/sect x 120069936 sectors
wd0: 32-bit data port
wd0: drive supports PIO mode 4, DMA mode 2, Ultra-DMA mode 5 (Ultra/100)
wd0(pciide0:0:0): using PIO mode 4, DMA mode 2 (using DMA data transfers)
It seems to work just fine now, modulo some DMA errors:
wd0a: DMA error writing fsbn 39945664 of 39945664-39945775 (wd0 bn 39945664; cn 39628 tn 10 sn 10), retrying
wd0: soft error (corrected)
and is currently getting hit by 25 concurrent "bonnie -s 999":s. Systat
shows the drive speed as 10MB/s which isn't optimal but hey, it works.
Any ideas if the UltraDMA-problem is related to the controller or the
drive (or NetBSD) ?
