This question is slightly off topic for this list.

I have a DEC3000 600M and in order to get NetBSD installed on it I have borrowed a DECConnect Office cable to connect to a console terminal.

I need to return the cable to it's owner and would like to replace it with a more conventional cable of my own. I am not likely to be able to buy another DEC cable.

This box has a 25 pin male D connecter on the back which I hope can be used as an alternate console interface for communicating with the SRM.

I have tried a variety of different cables, both null modem and dce-dte configurations without any success. I have also tried changing the position of the small switch which is recessed into the back panel. It is labelled S3.

Can anybody suggest a way of setting up this console interface?

Thanks in advance.
