You need to compile it yourself. Read 
http://www.netbsd.org/Documentation/kernel/#how_to_build_a_kernel
for instructions how to do this.

There is somthing strange in the SRM / NetBSD-alpha bootloader.
I had problems booting a kernel image with a "." in its name. 
So you shuold rename your old, working kernel not to "/netbsd.old".
Use "/netbsdold" or "/netbsdinstall" or "/netbsdgeneric" or ...
