Subject: PWS 500au with PX-W1210S & 1.6BETA_5 crashes when booting

Dear NetBSD/alpha:

I have a Plextor PleXWriter PX-W1210S (internal SCSI CD-R/W) drive
connected to a PWS 500au and since I've installed 1.6BETA5 it
often--perhaps 40% of the time--fails to boot, dropping into db just
after probing the Plextor drive. That never happened with 1.5.2 and
nothing similar has occurred under 1.6BETA5 when the Plextor drive
wasn't connected.

I assume if I knew which commands to execute in db I could provide
some useful information, but I've not learnt how to use it yet.
Could someone offer guidance please?

I'll append the console output for successfully and non-successful
boots to this message.

Ray
