You have to open your 3000/30 and on the motherboard, right close to the
disk you will notice some jumpers, you have to toggle the w3 jumper to
enable output on the serial console. Then you have to attach a NULL modem
cable. It is not hard to build it yourself, just search on Google how to
build a serial NULL modem cable. The port settings are 9600 8 N 1

I had the same problem of yours and I could fix it moving on w3 switch and
building my own serial cable.
