I had found the version of firmware Werner mentions on an OpenVMS
hobbyist web site.  It did not require the netboot from the online
form, but it had an odd effect of ceasing to display anything after
"Jumping to bootstrap code" for me.

Actually, I think what would be really, really nice would be to get
V3.8-2 back.  That supposed worked well, from what I've read of the
archives.
