Okay. The overwhelming silence did seem odd, though. I guess I just jumped
too quick to a conclusion?

What does it do/not do?

! where are the jumper(s) on the motherboard to select the console?

	Well, when you have a montior and keyboard plugged in, it is
supposed to use that (graphics) console. If you don't have a keyboard
plugged in, it automatically switches output to the serial port. 9600/8/n/1.
Unless, of course, pwrup_console is set to serial...
