Well, it was my own fault. When I got the file from the mail
archive, it was formatted as html, so there went some characters out the
window... like & and #.
	I ended up grabbing your patch for 1.5 from
http://www.uni-mainz.de/~weiss/netbsd-multia-1.5.diffs
... and trimmed it down to the two parts you mentioned for 1.5.1.

BTW, would the whole patch from 1.5 worked fine? Or no?
