Hi
I picked up a DFE-538, and although not right away detected, a couple of
extra lines in the same style as
http://mail-index.netbsd.org/netbsd-bugs/2001/06/10/0012.html

or kern/13161

made it all work fine on my alpha.

dmesg gives

rtk0 at pci0 dev 11 function 0: D-Link Systems DFE 538
rtk0: interrupting at isa irq 9
rtk0: Ethernet address 00:50:ba:51:7b:d0
ukphy0 at rtk0 phy 7: Generic IEEE 802.3u media interface
ukphy0: OUI 0x000000, model 0x0000, rev. 0
ukphy0: 10baseT, 10baseT-FDX, 100baseTX, 100baseTX-FDX, auto

ifconfig rtk0 gives

rtk0: flags=8802<BROADCAST,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 1500
media: Ethernet autoselect (100baseTX full-duplex)
status: active
inet 192.168.1.55 netmask 0xffffff00 broadcast 192.168.1.255
inet6 fe80::250:baff:fe51:7bd0%rtk0 prefixlen 64 scopeid 0x1

That little AXPPCI33 is getting busy. There are only three PCI slots, (one
defpa, one FC-SCSI, now this 100BaseT). Its going to be the router between
my fddi and ethernet segments. Currently it is my TC alpha, with a defta and
the built in 10baseT ethernet. I even had to remove the vga adapter (it was
not doing anything anyhow).

What is the next step up for Alpha stuff? Something with more PCI slots and
maybe dual processor? That would be fun!

Ciao

Chris
