I have the same problem with XF86_VGA16,
I do not know why but the XF86_VGA16 is not built by default...

I've loaded the xc-src tarfiles and with 'make World' and 'make
install' all is good but I don't find the S3-Server for my Card. In
./xsrc/xc/programs/Xserver/hw/netbsd/alpha there are no files for S3.
Is there something todo before 'makeing World' to include the needed
server?
