i will compile the Sources from xfree86.org V4.01 on netbsd 1.5/Alpha.

i became following:

bash-2.04# make World

Building Release 6.4 of the X Window System.

I hope you checked the configuration parameters in ./config/cf
to see if you need to pass BOOTSTRAPCFLAGS.
