So, it seems that there was a problem with 1 bit deep ZPixmaps in
XalphaNetBSD.  This was causing some lossage in the Gimp [text
drawing didn't work properly], and many GTK-based programs would
not run at all.

This has been fixed, as of 10 minutes ago, if you are experiencing
problems of either of those descriptions, anoncvs or sup down new
xsrc and rebuild the Xserver.  Please ensure that
xsrc/xc/programs/Xserver/hw/netbsd/alpha/alphaInit.c
is at least version 1.13.  [this can be checked by looking at the
RCSid in a comment on the first line of the file.  If there is no
RCS id, then it is 1.12 or earlier as I just added that.]
